Since the première of LASYS in 2008, the laser industry has continued to grow strongly. Whereas the presentation of a fibre laser in one of the first press releases was reported back then as one of the highlights, technological development has advanced rapidly ever since. EUV lasers are now increasingly becoming the focal point of interest.

Over the last few years topics such as digitalisation, automation and AI-supported production processes have also become more important. Lasers bring their strengths to bear as multi-functional, flexible tools and are opening up more and more application areas. Modern production processes in battery manufacturing, medical technology or the semiconductor industry or solar industry rely on lasers.

In order to take account of the wide range of potential applications, Messe Stuttgart has decided to use and purposefully strengthen the topic of laser material processing in an industrial environment at its own established events.

This means that LASYS will no longer be staged as a stand-alone trade fair.

Sebastian Schmid, Vice President of Messe Stuttgart."Lasers, optics and photonics are still extremely important for Messe Stuttgart. We want to use our networks to transform our contacts and give the topic areas a platform they deserve. We are planning special areas and technical programme content at our trade fairs and exhibitions – for example at Quantum Effects, NORTEC, AMB, VISION, TecStyle Visions, wetec and Moulding Expo," summarised Sebastian Schmid, Vice President of Messe Stuttgart.

You can find all the events of Messe Stuttgart online in the event calendar of Messe Stuttgart.
