Creation of “Italian Manufacturing Technologies” - business network in Vietnam.
28.07.2023
The founding act of IMT-Italian Manufacturing Technologies, the first business network in Vietnam among UCIMU member enterprises, was signed on Thursday, 20 July.
At the moment of signing, seven companies joined the network: Buffoli Transfer (Brescia), Ficep (Gazzada Schianno, Varese), Gerardi (Lonate Pozzolo, Varese), Innse Berardi (Brescia), Losma (Curno, Bergamo), Prima Industrie (Collegno, Turin), Rettificatrici Ghiringhelli (Luino, Varese).
The initiative was created with the aim of supporting the network companies in their activities of presence and penetration in one of the Asian markets with the highest development potential, also because it is considered the gateway to the ASEAN area. The initiatives carried out by the network, which will be based in Ho Chi Minh City and will have the collaboration of local experts, will materialise into promotional activities to support the participation of the network companies in sector exhibitions, as well as into the organisation of visits to potential user companies, of seminars and networking meetings among the 7 Italian enterprises and local operators, not only from Vietnam.
Barbara Colombo, president of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE asserted: “I am very satisfied with the creation of IMT, which comes after two years of intense work and a careful analysis of the market situation, conducted also through the issue of a monograph dedicated to the country, in addition to a study tour in the main areas of Vietnam”.
IMT is an operational means for the internationalisation of companies in the sector interested in working in the South-East Asian region. Based on the processing of CECIMO and Gardner data by the UCIMU Economic Studies Department & Business Culture Centre, in 2022, the ASEAN countries saw their machine tool consumption grow by about 20%, thus extending the positive trend registered from 2021.
With specific reference to Vietnam, consumption - up by 34% in 2022 – should remain almost stationary in 2023 (+2%). According to the forecasts elaborated by UCIMU on the basis of Oxford data, the demand for machine tools should then grow considerably in 2024 (+13%), in 2025 (+12%) and in 2026 (+11%).
The IMT initiative represents the second network of UCIMU member companies. This is added to ITC India, a network that has been operating since 2012. ITC India was created thanks to the support of UCIMU for its member enterprises and then also opened to the participation of the member companies of AMAPLAST and ACIMGA, which participate in the initiative, even if they do not currently have any representation of enterprises in the network.
The founding act of IMT was drawn up by Mrs Monica Rita Scaravelli of the Scaravelli Notary Office.
