30.09.2026
New local presence strengthens support for manufacturers in Slovenia and across the Western Balkans

Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence (MI) division has officially opened its new branch office in Slovenj Gradec. The opening event, held at Pod Gradom 4, brought together Hexagon representatives, partners and local authorities to mark a new phase of Hexagon’s presence in Slovenia and the wider Western Balkans region.
The day began with a welcome speech by Vicentiu Tomescu, Country Leader Balkans, Division Stationary Metrology, followed by greetings from dr. Peter Pungartnik, Deputy Mayor of the City Municipality of Slovenj Gradec, and the ribbon-cutting ceremony that formally opened the office. Massimo Gregori, Country Leader Italy, was also present at the event.

“Opening this office is about being closer to the people we work with. Our customers make products that others rely on every day, and that is what really drives them. Having a local team here means we can support them better and help them achieve more. Hexagon is about precision, and we want to bring that to industry across the region, because when it has to be right, it has to be Hexagon.” – Vicentiu Tomescu, Country Leader Balkans, Division Stationary Metrology, Hexagon

A programme built around regional customers
Following the ceremony, Hexagon’s regional team presented the company’s footprint and its plans for the region. Vicentiu Tomescu introduced Hexagon MI and its presence in the Balkans, while Branislav Goranovic, Regional Sales Manager, Division Portable Metrology, and Simon Prodan, Sales Representative, Division Stationary Metrology, outlined how portable and stationary metrology solutions serve manufacturers in the Western Balkans.
A special presentation by Benjamin Schön, Enterprise Account Manager at Hexagon MI, focused on how manufacturers can achieve quality at speed. Drawing on Hexagon’s global scale – operations in 50 countries, more than 3,700 patents and around 4,000 R&D staff – he showed how digitally capturing reality, automating processes and putting data to work can deliver faster throughput, less rework and more consistent quality. Examples ranged from automated inspection of automotive parts and battery manufacturing to Hexagon’s long-standing metrology partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing and its work with BMW Group on humanoid robotics in production.
Hexagon partner Adigma, an Adria-based digital manufacturing specialist founded in 2022 and headquartered in Bjelovar, Croatia, presented production software solutions for intelligent manufacturing, including CAD/CAM, simulation and sheet metal fabrication software from Hexagon’s portfolio.

Hexagon’s portable and stationary metrology portfolios were presented side by side. On the portable side, the range spans handheld 3D scanning with HYPERSCAN and ATLASCAN for fast, flexible data capture, versatile large-volume metrology with the Leica Absolute Tracker AT960 combined with the T-Probe and AS1 scanner, and shop-floor inspection with the ROMER Absolute Arm and AS1 scanner, which brings measurement directly to the component. The stationary portfolio covers coordinate bridge measuring machines (Enspec, Global S and MAESTRO), multisensor and optical machines (Visius, Optiv S and Optiv Reference) and ultra-high-accuracy machines (Leitz Reference, PMM-C, PMM-F and PMM-G).
During the demo tour and technology showcase, guests paid close attention to detailed demonstrations of MAESTRO and HYPERSCAN. MAESTRO combines advanced sensor technologies with an all-digital, intelligent machine design to deliver high throughput and flexibility without compromising precision. HYPERSCAN is a handheld optical-tracking 3D scanner for fast, accurate inspection in dynamic, unstable environments, delivering an instant high-resolution data stream without the need for reference targets.

The day concluded with a lunch and cocktail reception, where guests also received gift packages.
